Met haar installatie ‘Biogold’ reageert goudsmid en productdesigner Lynn Somers op de groeiende behoefte aan duurzame recycling van goud. Deze eindige grondstof is essentieel voor de werking van onze elektronische apparatuur. Om de vervuilende recycling-industrie te omzeilen wordt nu gekeken naar de mogelijkheden van de Shewanella bacterie, die goudchloride kan omzetten in 24-karaats goud. Somers presenteert een toekomstvisie waarin biogoud direct uit telefoons geoogst kan worden.
